Presidential Election 24th October 2025

NOTICE REGARDING ACCESSIBILITY OF POLLING STATIONS

Notice is hereby given pursuant to Section 3 of the Electoral (Amendment) Act, 1996, that the following polling stations have altered access arrangements for wheelchair or reduced mobility users:

Scoil Ultain Naofa, Baile Ghib, An Uaimh, Co. na Mí Temporary Ramp
Girley Community Centre, Girley, Fordstown, Co. Meath Temporary Ramp

                                  
ELECTORS WITH PHYSICAL ILLNESS OR PHYSICAL IMPAIRMENT 

Electors with a physical illness or physical impairment, whose name is not on the postal or special voters list and who may have difficulty gaining access to his or her local polling station, may apply to have his or her vote transferred to a more accessible polling station within their local electoral area.

An elector should apply by email no later than Sunday 19 October 2025 to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or by post to The Returning Officer, Courthouse, Trim, Co. Meath and, if possible, suggest an alternative polling station.

Information for visually impaired voters

Ballot paper templates will be available in each polling station at the Presidential Election on 24th October 2025, for use by visually impaired voters who wish to vote in secret. Details of the candidates and their position on the ballot paper are available by calling the following freephone number.

The Poll at the election will be taken on Friday 24 October 2025, between the hours of 7.00 a.m. and 10.00 p.m.

The counting of the votes for the Presidential Election 2025

  • for the Meath West constituency will commence at 9.00am on Saturday 25th October 2025 at Trim GAA Centre,  Newhaggard Rd, Trim, Co. Meath
  • for the Meath East constituency will commence at 9.00am on Saturday 25th October 2025 at Donaghmore Ashbourne GAA Centre, Killegland, Ashbourne, Co. Meath.
